Day 6: Sisteron and its clue

Between Provence and Dauphiné, the Citadel of Sisteron rises, bars the sky with its enclosures, its bastions, its keep. Henri IV said "It is the most powerful fortress in my kingdom".
Jewel of the architectural and historical heritage of the city, of which it is the symbol, this fortress is a set of works from different eras, from the 13th century for the upper rampart and the covered way until the 19th century linked to the important alterations made to the north face.
The restoration and enhancement of the premises, carried out by the association "Arts, Theater, Monuments" (ATM), are particularly successful and the visit has many surprises in store.
