Digne and chocolate ammonites

Ammonites are mollusks with a spiral coiled shell. They populated the seas of the Secondary Era and disappeared before its end, 65 million years ago.

They can be observed on a large remarkable slab, located at the exit of Digne-les-Bains on the edge of the D900 A.

To find out more about ammonites, discover the “Real and imaginary fossils” or “The Superlatives” route.
