The installation of the South African sculptor Trevor Gould is located in Lou Passavous, “the passage” in Provençal, an ancient place of multiple transhumance between France and Savoy, then between France and Italy. For the uprooted artist himself, the work questions migratory routes and influences.

This sculpture contrasts with the environment, appearing as out of place and yet historically logical since it refers to the epic of the elephants of the Carthaginian general across the Alps.

This elephant carries on its back a character with Mickey ears, an image of domestication, domination, or that of the growing "disneyization" of the world.
