Day 6: Sisteron and its clue

alt_route Step 1 / Option 2 - Hike to the Money Hole Cave

access_time 4h - Free

The silver hole hike goes around the clue and takes you to a cave which is located almost at the top of this massif, facing Sisteron.

This cave is already inhabited in the Neolithic era, then in the 16th century it was invaded by Protestants during the Battle of Sisteron during the war of religions.

The Silver Hole owes its name to archaeological excavations that have uncovered ancient coins.
